FAQ

Who is eligible for the India Network Health Plan? Is this only for Indian Nationals?
All non-US Citizens and their eligible dependents in USA or Canada are eligible. One Member in the family must be a dues paying member of India Network. The India Network Health Insurance can be purchased by any non-US Citizen (i.e., visitors from all countries to the USA are eligible and welcome to take advantage of this award winning health insurance policy).

How do I get insurance coverage? When does the coverage become effective and terminated?
The coverage becomes effective on either of 3 dates:
· The day after the secure server online form is submitted and premiums processed; or
· The day after the postmark on the envelope containing the enrollment form and premium check/money order; or
· Any future date specified in the form.
· The coverage may start on the date of departure to USA or Canada (not more than 48 hours before arrival) if requested. All dates and times refers to US Eastern Standard Time and date.
· For new enrollments, the maximum total payment under the Policy for a Sickness that is first manifested, treated or diagnosed during an Insured Person’s first seven (7) days of coverage, commencing as of the Insured Person’s Effective Date is $1,000.  Full Policy coverage will take effect seven (7) days after Hospital confinement ends and/or medical treatment has been rendered complete, subject to the Pre-existing Condition exclusion.

The coverage will be terminated on the date through which premiums have been paid and as indicated on the id card.

What are the major benefits of having India Network Health Plan?
· Underwritten by the Insurance Company of the State of Pennsylvania, a member of the Chartis Insurance (Formerly AIG);

· Option of $75 or $250 deductible for <70 year olds and $250 or $500 deductible for 70+ years old;
· Maximum coverage of $150,000, $100,000, and an option of $50,000 available per sickness (18-69 age group);
· For 70 plus: $100,000 maximum coverage per sickness;
· Pre-existing conditions are excluded from coverage (refer to Premier coverage plans for pre-existing condition coverage);
· No medical examinations or other qualifications required;
· Excellent 24 X 7 Assist Services and prompt settlement of claims by Chartis Claims office in USA.

Is the insurance coverage valid all over the United States and Canada?
Yes. The India Network Health Insurance is valid in USA, Canada and throughout the world. Countries that are prohibited as of January 2011 include visitor's home country of residence, Balkans, Belarus, Myanmar, Ivory Coast, Cuba, DR of Congo, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Liberia, North Korea, Sudan, Syria and Zimbabwe.

Do you have a list of providers in my town?
No. The India Network plan is a national program valid in US and Canada. You may visit any provider closest to your location (see yellow pages in your phone book). All you have to do is present them with your id card. The Insurance will settle the claims with the provider directly if the provider bill for covered services as per your program chosen or to you (the insured) if you file claim. Claim forms are available under download section of our web site.

Can I cancel my policy once the policy starts?
No. The insurance can be cancelled prior to the coverage start date subject to $25 cancellation fee. After the start date, premiums are considered fully earned and no refunds will be possible.

What is the deductible amount?
The program is sickness- and injury-based, and for each sickness, or injury, the chosen deductible is to be paid by policy holder. The charges are paid by the insurance as outlined in the Schedule of Benefits located on the web page after meeting the deductible.

Can I renew the insurance after it expires?
You may apply afresh again for coverage. The Insured will be subject to pre-existing period again from the start date if there is a break in coverage.

If couple is visiting and want coverage, do they both need to be members of India Network? Do they have to file separate forms?
No. A visiting relative can be sponsored by India Network Member (Citizen/GCard holder/any resident alien) who is in the United States or Canada. They can obtain coverage under one form except when spouses are in different age groups. For example, one spouse is below 70 years (or below 50) old and one is above 70 years old (or above 50), they must file separate enrollment forms.

What is the minimum duration insurance can be taken?
The minimum duration is one month and maximum duration allowed is twelve months at a time, 15 days and few days coverage is available at the time of renewal. Please choose the duration carefully as no changes can be made after the policy starts.
